Viren Rasquinha

Viren Wilfred Rasquinha was born on 13th September 1980. He is a former captain of the Indian National Men’s Hockey team and the youngest player to have ever played in India’s International League. He joined the Olympic Gold Quest in 2009 and is the CEO at present.

His Achievements:-

• Gave his crucial contribution to the Indian hockey team in winning 2001 Hockey Junior World Cup, held in Australia.
• Bagged a silver medal along with the team at the 2002 Asian Games, held in Busan.
• Played a vital role in the team in securing gold medal for India at the 2003 Asia Cup, held in Kuala Lumpur.
• Also proved conducive in India’s gold medal win at the 2003 Afro-Asian Games, held in Hyderabad.
• Received the "Shiv Chhatrapati Award” by the Government of India in 2004.
• Bestowed with the "Arjuna Award" by the Government of India in 2005.
• Won the "Best Sportsman of the Year" award in 2005.
