Michael Anthony Holding

Michael Holding, born on February 16, 1954, in Kingston, Jamaica, is a cricket legend renowned for his exceptional fast bowling skills. Affectionately known as "Whispering Death" due to his smooth run-up and fierce pace, Holding was a vital part of the formidable West Indies pace quartet in the 1970s and 1980s. His athleticism and ability to generate rapid deliveries made him an iconic figure in cricket. After retiring, Holding transitioned to cricket commentary, earning respect for his insightful analysis. • Entitled as "Wisden cricketer of the Year" award in 1977
• He holds the credit of bowling "the greatest over in Test history" to English batsman Geoff Boycott in 1981, match against England which was held in Bridgetown
• In 1984, Michael Holding with Vivian Richards set the best ever 10th wicket partnership in ODI history.
• Michael Holding and Andy Roberts were considered one of the most successful new-ball partnerships as they took 216 wickets in 33 test matches.
