Glenn Donald McGrath

Glenn McGrath, born on February 9, 1970, in Dubbo, Australia, is a cricket legend celebrated for his exceptional fast bowling skills. Known for precision and consistency, McGrath played a crucial role in Australia's cricket dominance from the late 1990s to the 2000s. With an impressive 563 wickets in Test cricket, he ranks among the highest wicket-takers for fast bowlers. McGrath contributed significantly to Australia's three consecutive World Cup victories (1999, 2003, 2007). Beyond cricket, he faced personal challenges, including his late wife Jane's battle with cancer, inspiring the establishment of the McGrath Foundation, dedicated to breast cancer awareness and support.

• McGrath holds the record for dismissing the most batsmen for ducks (104) in Test cricket. Along with this, he also holds the world record for taking highest no. of wickets in Test matches by a fast bowler and is the fourth one on the all-time list.
• Honoured with the Allan Border Medal and the Men's Test Player of the Year by Cricket Australia in 2000
• He was one of the 21 Australian athletes who are inducted into the “Best of the Best” list of the Australian Institute of Sport in 2001
• Named the 'Men's ODI Player of the Year' in 2001
• Named the 'NSW Australian of the Year' in 2008
• Inducted into the 'Sport Australia Hall of Fame' in 2011
• McGrath was enlisted into the 'ICC Hall of Fame' in January 2013. The same year, he was also inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame by Cricket Australia in 2013.
• In 2017, McGrath enlisted as a bowler in Australia's 'Greatest ever ODI team'.  Along with this, he was named in the country's best Ashes XI in the last 40 years after a fan poll conducted by Cricket Australia.
