Cheteshwar Pujara

Born on 25th January 1988 in Rajkot, Gujarat; Cheteshwar Arvind Pujara is an Indian top-order batsman who has been playing in the national Test side since 2010. According to ICC Player Rankings, Pujara is ranked world No.7 Test batsman in the world with 760 points, as of 22 January 2021.

Here are some of his career achievements:-

• Part of the India A team and the highest scorer of the India Tour of England in 2010.
• Highest scorer at the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy 2012 with two tons and one half-century.
• With his 18th Test innings and 11 matches, he became one of the fastest batsmen to reach 1000 runs and also honoured as the Emerging Player of the Year 2013.
• Set a record to score the most runs (1,605) by a batsman in an Indian first-class season in February 2017 during the one-off Test match against Bangladesh.
• Pujara set a record of India's third-highest test partnership of 222 runs with Virat Kohli in South Africa and their highest in the second innings of a Test in South Africa.
• He is the second-fastest Indian player to score 1000 test runs
• Pujara is also the third batsman for India, and ninth overall, to bat for all five days in a Test.
• Reached the career-best number 2 spot in ICC Test rankings in 2017 after his double century against Australia
• Pujara is currently the only Indian with more than 200 balls innings (9) against Australia. Sunil Gavaskar had 8 innings, Sachin Tendulkar had 7, and Virat Kohli has 6 innings against Aussies.
• 11th Indian cricketer to reach 6000 Test Runs
