Lived from 6 February 1895 to 16 August 1948, Babe Ruth was the most-celebrated professional baseball player from the United States. Fondly known as "The Sultan of Swat" and "The Bambino", his MLB career is 22 seasons long from 1914 to 1935. He began his MLB career with the Boston Red Sox but gained fame with New York Yankees as a slugging outfielder. He has established many MLB records, some of which still stand. He was the first batter to score 50 home runs in a season, 60 homers in a season and 500 homers in a career.
