Born on 3rd April 1953, in Magnolia, North Carolina, James "Bonecrusher" Smith is a former Professional boxer who became the first Heavyweight Champion with a college degree. He was given the moniker "Bonecrusher" for his boxing skills.

His achievements:-

  • Earned the IBC Heavyweight title beating Kimmuel Odum on 22nd July 1991
  • Won the WBA Americas Heavyweight Title on 4th April 1990 defeating Mike Weaver
  • On 12th December 1986, he clinched the title of WBA Heavyweight Champion by defeating  Tim Witherspoon
  • Blew down the undefeated Frank Bruno in a ten round event in the year 1984
