Hurling is an outdoor team sport played predominantly in Ireland. The game dates back to more than 3000 years. It is a native game of Ireland and shares much familiarity with its counterpart the Gaelic football. It also shares a common Gaelic root with the sport of shinty (camanachd), which is played predominantly in Scotland. The Gaelic Athletic Association is the governing body of hurling which governs the Gaelic football too.

Hurling - Goal Post
It is a metal crossbar through which a net is attached.The goal is said to be scored when the ball passes through the goalpost.
Hurling - Sliotars
Sliotars are hard solid balls used in the game of hurling. They are also known by the name of sliotar or only hurling ball.
Hurling - Hurley
It is an outdoor sport where two teams compete against each other and try to earn a goal. It is done by striking a small ball known as sliotar with a hurley (hurling playing stick) inside the opponent team’s goalpost.
Hurling - Shin Guard
It is a protective gear worn by players to protect their shin bone from any injury caused by hitting of the ball or any other object.
Hurling - Shoes
Players wear football style cleated boots that provide a good grip on the pitch.
Hurling - Helmets
Helmets with face guards are the mandatory piece of protective gears that has to be worn by the hurling players to protect their face and head from injuries.

Players wear comfortable T-shirts (jersey) and a pair of shorts in team colors.
