Born on 7th May 1957, in Santa Monica, California, Christopher St. John "Sinjin" Smith is a former professional beach volleyball player as well as a coach who is considered as one of the best players of the sport and is truly an inspiration for the burgeoning stars of the game. Along with his partner Randy Stoklos, the player has blown several competitions away, adding many feathers in his cap. His career chart is decorated with 139 wins.

Led his college team UCLA to NCAA Championship of 1978 and 1979. He was entitled as the UCLA All-American for both the years.
Inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame in 1991
At the age of 20, Sinjin led to his first professional win in 1977 along with his partner Mike Normand at the Rosecrans Open.
Won the AVP International Championship for five times in 1979, 1981, 1982, 1988 and 1990.
Clinched a bronze medal at the Goodwill Games of 1994, held in St. Petersburg
