Sapporo Dome

Sapporo Dome is a stadium placed in Toyohira-Ku, Sapporo, Japan, and is fundamentally used for baseball and league football. Sapporo Dome opened in 2001 with 41,580 seats is the "Hovering Soccer Stage" framework, the first system in the world, permits for both soccer and baseball competitions. The immense natural turf soccer pitch, measuring 120m by 85m and weighing 8,300t, gradually rolls from outside into the enclosed field at 4 m/min on 34 wheels, hovering 7.5cm by air pressure, through the moving wall, which has opened to permit this. The soccer stage is set within the open range outside the stadium to develop the natural turf when no matches are scheduled. This stadium facilitated three events amid the 2002 FIFA World Cup. It also made history as being the primary venue where both indoor and nighttime skiing occasions took place for the first time on a World Championship or Winter Olympic Games level with competitions in the cross country skiing sprints and the cross country portion of the 7.5 km sprint event in the Nordic combined.
