The SSE Arena is an indoor arena, also famous as Wembley Arena. It is situated in the Arena Square, Wembley, London. It was built to host the British Empire Games in 1934 at Wembley, the arena was designed and built by Arthur Elvin. With 12,500 seats, the SSE Arena opened to the general public on 2nd April 2006. The arena was originally named as the Empire Pool as it housed a swimming pool which was used in the 1948 Summer Olympics for the last time. The venue was renamed to Wembley Arena in 1978 by which it was known until 1st June 2014 when SSE (a British energy company) bought the naming rights and renamed the venue as SSE Arena. After the O2 Arena, it is the second biggest indoor arena in London.
