Instituted in 1982, Premios Nacionales Del Deporte (National Sports Awards) are yearly awards conferred to the best Spanish Athletes by the higher sports council (CSD) and are delivered by the Royal House to the sports personality of the nation for best accomplishments in the calendar year prior to the awards year.
Following are the categories of the award:-
- King Felipe Award: Best Spanish sportsman
- Reina Letizia Award: Best Spanish athlete
- King Juan Carlos Award: Sportsman / s revelation
- Reina Sofía Award: Values and fair play (person or entity)
- Princesa Leonor Award: Best Spanish athlete, under 18 years old
- Infanta Sofía Award: Sports activity among people with disabilities (person or entity)
- Trofeo Iberoamericana Community: Best Iberoamerican athlete
- Barón de Güell Cup: Best team or national team
- Olimpia Prize: Sports activity among people with disabilities (person or entity)
- Copa Stadium: Promotion of sport in Spain (person or entity)
- Trofeo Joaquín Blume: Spanish university with greater promotion of sport
- CSD Award: Spanish municipality with better organization and sports offer
