Woodball is a recreational sport similar to polo and croquet in styles and techniques. The sport is played with a mallet and ball, where both the equipment are made of wood.
The sport isn't limited to any specific surface and hence, can be easily played indoors or outdoors, even on asphalt surfaces, grass or sand.
The International Woodball Federation is the international governing body of Woodball. Since 2008, woodball has been included as a part of the Asian Beach Games.
The objective is to strike wooden balls through the centre of the wooden gates. Woodball can be played in singles, doubles or as a team of almost 4-8 players including the Captain.
The players strike the ball from a starting lane through the gates. The participant who completes the match with the least number of strokes is declared as the winner.
