The sport consists of two teams each with 10 players each where 6 players play in the pool, and the other 4 players act as a substitute. These players only get into the play due to injury or detention of the primary six players.
The sport is played for 30 minutes duration with two halves, each of 15 minutes time period and a rest period is for 5 minutes in between the halves. After the half-time is completed, the teams are required to switch their respective sides.
The players have to cover the specified zones besides being in their position, but their skilled formations during the match are more important.
The teams are split into attack and defence where the variations are only allowed to midfielders' positioning and formation.
The scores can only be scored if the pucks are aimed with a hockey stick only. If any other body part is involved in the movement of the puck, it is considered invalid.

Both the teams start the match being at each pool's end by keeping their one hand on the wall. The puck is in the middle before starting the match.
In each playing area, there is a 3-meter long goal tray with a slope in the front and a shallow trough present.
The puck is made up of lead and coated with plastic on the outer side. The weight of the puck is limited to 1.5 kgs.
All the players are required to wear large fins at the bottom for their ease in freediving, a diving mask and a snorkel and latex built thick gloves which protect their hands from the bottom pool and puck. The player then flicks the puck over 3 meters, and then it came off to the bottom and got passed to another player.
The referee signals any infringement or penalty scores via using a buzzer. The referees can offer any free puck by sponsoring a three-meter advantage or disadvantage and can disqualify the player for a period of 1 to 2 minutes.
