Quidditch is a sport that has arrived from Harry Potter's world. It was based on J.K. Rowling's series of Harry Potter. Earlier, it was a fictional game, but today it is played in real life all around the world. According to the ancient myths, Quidditch was played by witches and wizards. It is also regarded as Muggle Quidditch.
In the Harry Potter Universe, the game includes flying broomsticks as well as magical balls and heigh hoops, used differently. Quidditch is a full-contact sport which is played on a hockey rink-sized pitch, including equipment such as Quaffle, Bludgers, Snitch, Brooms and Hoops. Today, the sport is governed by the International Quidditch Association (IQA).
Quidditch is a team sport where each team consists of 7 players along with an extra player.
The primary objective of the players is to score more points than the opposite team.
The history of the sport has emerged from the fictional series of Harry Potter written by J.K. Rowling. According to the series, Quidditch is a popular sport for witches and wizards.
Later in 2005, Xander Manshel and Alex Benepe re-developed this game in Middlebury College, Vermont. In 2007, the Quidditch World Cup was played for the first time, and since then it took place annually in the United States until 2014.
In 2012, the International Quidditch Association (IQA) for the first time, organised the Summer Games where five national teams participated. After two years in 2014, the IQA organised the Global Games (now recognised as the World Cup) in which the team from the United States clinched the gold medal.
After the Middlebury College has started the sport, it has spread into various universities such as the UC Berkeley situated in the United States along with the McGill University and Carleton University in 2009.
In 2010, with the growing popularity of Quidditch, the first permanent Quidditch pitch was created at the University of California situated in Los Angeles. Today, the IQA successfully manages and organises all the international matches worldwide. In July 2015, the first European Games were held in the city of Sarteano in Italy.

It is played for school students with some modified rules and less contact with no harsh tackling and modified hoops.,Wheelchair Quidditch
It is a variant of regular Quidditch but modified for the disabled players. The Australian Quidditch Association has set the rules for the wheelchair Quidditch.
Each team has one Seeker, along with one Keeper, two Beaters and 3 Chasers.
Points are scored whenever a team scores a goal by placing the quaffle into the opponent's hoop with which it earns 10 points. If any team member captures the Golden Snitch, then that team is awarded 30 points, immediately winning the match.
