Judo match last for five minutes for men and women and three minutes for juniors.
Penalties
Two types of penalties may be awarded in case of any invalid act performed:-
Hansoku make- It is a penalty for a major rule violation and results in loss of the match and expulsion from the tournament.
Shido- It is a penalty for minor rule violation like prolonged period of non-aggression etc. The first shido results in warning only and if three shidos are given, it results in loss of the match (an indirect hansoku make).
