Horseball is a sport played on horseback in which a ball is handled and points are scored by shooting it through a hoop of 1 m diameter. The sport is a combination of polo, rugby and basketball. It is one of the officially recognized ten disciplines of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.
The predecessor of the sport, pato, was originated in the early 1700s in Argentina in which live duck was used to play the sport instead of a six-handled ball (which is used in the modern sport). The International Horseball Federation organize several international competitions like the European Championships, the World Championships and the FIHB Champions League for clubs.
