The match of cycle ball is played between two teams with five to six players in each team.
There are two halves of 7 minutes with a 2-minute break in between the matches.
The players can only move the ball with the bicycle. They are strictly prohibited from using their feet and hands else it will be counted as a penalty.
The players are not allowed to touch their feet on the ground else; it results in a penalty.
The size of the ball should be around 18 cm, i.e. 7 inches in diameter.
Before the beginning of the match, the referee tosses a coin to determine which team should begin the game first. The winning team gets the benefit first to strike the ball with their front, rear wheel of the bicycle.
If any player touches the floor, lean over the playing ball or at the goal post, then he/she is automatically disqualified from the match.
A free-kick is usually granted if any offence is committed outside the given penalty area. For serious offences, a penalty kick is awarded.
During the match, if the ball hits any defending player, directed off the defender’s body or his/her bicycle or the ball crosses his/her goal line, then the referee stops the game at the moment, and a corner kick is awarded to the opposing team.
The players can use their hands off the handlebars as a goalkeeper only inside the penalty area. It’s completely prohibited if two players of the same team stay in the penalty area at the same time.
