Born on 23rd December 1967 in Matindu Village, Haryana, Sanjay Kumar is a former freestyle wrestler. He has represented India in many international wrestling events.
Here are some of his major achievements:-
- Sanjay brought home a silver medal which he earned in 90kg category at the South Asian Games of 1989.
- He bagged two gold medals in 1991 and 1995 and a silver medal in 1993 at the Commonwealth Games in 90kg category.
- Sanjay has also been bestowed the traditional Indian wrestling titles of “Hind Kesari”, “Rustom–e-Hind" and “Bharat Kesari"
- Received the "Arjuna Award" in the year 1997
