The entire game is divided into two 20 minutes halves with one minute half time.
Each team consists of 6 players at the time of the match with any amount of reserves. The reserves can substitute the on-field players.
Any touch on the body, clothing or ball of the player is referred to as legal touch. The allotted referee checks the touch and if required, can overrule the claim as well. The player also needs to raise his/her hand and shout "touch" to claim the touch.
The match is restarted if the ball is tapped or any dummy-half touches that ball during the rollball.
The participants have to change the position after six touchdowns. After shifting, the attacking team starts the game with a 'rollball'.
If a player has made a forward pass during the off-side play or performed a rollball ahead of the mark, penalty is awarded.
In case of a tie, points are awarded in advance to the elimination round. The referee then differentiates the total score in the following manner-
Win - 3 points
Draw - 2 points
Loss - 1 point
Forefit - 0 points
If a team fields a player who hasn't signed the waiver as a part of the team, then that team is disqualified.
For a corporate co-ed play, one female participant should always be present in the field. Although if the female participant scores a try, then the respective team is awarded 2 points.
The dummy half player or acting half who picks up the ball; needs to run. If he/she is touched, then a changeover (substitution) follows.
When a team touches an opposite team player, then he/she should place the ball on the exact position on the ground where he/she is touched.
The players can score a Try point by grounding the rugby ball at the try line, or behind it. For every try, the players are awarded one point.
During a match, if the attacking player makes a quick start and is touched by any off-side defender, then he/she is still allowed to continue.
