Situated in south-west London, the Twickenham Stadium is usually known as the Twickenham or Twickers is a rugby union stadium in England. The Rugby Football Union owns the stadium. It hosts home Test matches of the England National Rugby Union Team. Other rugby union matches that took place in this stadium are the Middlesex Sevens, European Rugby Champions, LV Cup, Aviva Premiership final, and the Varsity Match. The RFU headquarters is also located in this stadium. The construction was started in 1907 and the first match was played on 2nd October 1909. It was designed and constructed by the Ward McHugh Associates and is supposed to hold almost around 82,000 spectators in the stadium. The surface of the stadium is based on Desso Grass Master and the England National Rugby Union team is the permanent tenant of this stadium.

Twickenham is said to be the fourth largest stadium in Europe and the second largest stadium in England after Wembley Stadium.
The World Rugby Union Museum is located inside the stadium that showcases the entire history of the global rugby game.

Significance

It hosts the annual London Leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series along with the third-place match of the annual London Leg of the World Rugby Women’s Seven Series.
This stadium also hosts the season opening of the London Double Header and has been the playground for the Anglo-Welsh Cup final, 2006-07 Heineken Cup Final, Christmas holiday Big Game and Army Navy Match that signifies the culmination of the Inter-services competition as well.
The first rugby match known as "Calcutta Cup" to be shown on television (on BBC Television) was hosted here between England and Scotland.
Famous live concerts were held here, where great performers such as Bon Jovi, Rihanna, Iron Maiden, Bryan Adams, Eagles, Genesis, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga have performed.
Twickenham had hosted the 1991 Rugby World Cup Final where Australia beat England by 12-6.
