The Staples Centre is a multi-utility arena, situated next to Los Angeles Convention Centre. With 88,257.90 sqm of total space, the Staples Center stands as one of the major sports arenas in the Great Los Angeles Area. It is currently home to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) also use the venue for practice. The Staples Center arena was opened to the public on 17th October 1999.

Trivia

The Staples Centre arena hosts over 250 events in a year, welcoming more than 4 million spectators.
The Center won the title of the "Arena of the Year" in 2000 and 2001, hosted by the "Pollstar" magazine. It was also named the "Best New Major Concert Venue" in the year 1999.

Significance

The Center has been the main venue for the Grammy Awards ever since the year 2000.
American singer and song writer Taylor Swift has performed 16 sold out events at this arena.
The Staples Centre held the grand finales of the World Championship of the League of Legends (Video Game) in the year 2013 and 2016 thus stepping into the world of e-sports.
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) named the Staples Arena as the most "Vegetarian-Friendly" arena in the NBA.
On 17th October 1999, American singer Bruce Springsteen and the "E Street" Band performed at the inaugural concerts of the arena.
