The Staples Centre is a multi-utility arena, situated next to Los Angeles Convention Centre. With 88,257.90 sqm of total space, the Staples Center stands as one of the major sports arenas in the Great Los Angeles Area. It is currently home to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) also use the venue for practice. The Staples Center arena was opened to the public on 17th October 1999.
The Staples Centre arena hosts over 250 events in a year, welcoming more than 4 million spectators.
The Center won the title of the "Arena of the Year" in 2000 and 2001, hosted by the "Pollstar" magazine. It was also named the "Best New Major Concert Venue" in the year 1999.
