Stade des Alpes is one of the most famous soccer venues in France that also hosts the home matches of Grenoble Foot 38 and the FC Grenoble. The stadium seats in Paul Mistral Park and has replaced the former stadium Stade Lesdiguières. Grenoble Alpes Metropole owns the stadium. During the construction of the stadium, the Grenoble Foot 38 club used to play amongst the top football divisions but, now the club plays in the fourth division, attracting a handful of fans. On the other side, FC Grenoble has uplifted the stature of the stadium with their recent promotion in the Top 14 rugby union promotion in 2012.

The stadium has solar panels that produce around 70,000 kWh every year.
Significance
The goal at the stadium was credited by an Ivorian striker Franck Dja Djedje that played for FC Grenoble on loan.
It is well known for its unique design and swelling roof structure projected by architects Chaix & Morel.
State des Alpes has been selected to host the 2019 FIFA World Cup matches.
