Samara Arena, also known as the Cosmos Arena, is one of the newest built arenas of Russia that has been selected to host the FIFA World Cup matches of the year 2018. The stadium is located in the North-Western part of Samara, Russia and is owned by the Samara Oblast Government and operated by the native football club FC Krylia Sovetov Samara. The total area of this arena is 160,498.10 m2, having a VIP box capacity for 1,125 spectators and 75 premium seats. The design of the metal dome of the stadium is inspired by space exploration. The design tender was announced in late 2012 with an estimated amount of $320 million. The outline of the stadium resembles a spacecraft.
