The Estadio Akron, previously known as Estadio Omnilife Stadium and Estadio Chivas, is a multi-purpose stadium that is situated in Zapopan, Mexico, as a part of the J. V. C complex which is employed as a multi-purpose field. The arena is predominantly used for football events. The name of this stadium Estadio Omnilife was taken from a brand of nutrients supplements "Omnilife". The stadium came into the limelight in 2012 regarding the controversy about its artificial turf which was planned to be switched to natural grass. This stadium also hosted the first public match, which was a friendly match between Manchester United and Guadalajara (Club Deportivo Guadalajara "Chivas") where Guadalajara won with scores 3-2 in 2010, 30 July. The first goal in the match was scored by Guadalajara player Javier Chicharito Hernandez. The unique thing about this match was that Guadalajara player Chicharito played first half for Guadalajara and the rest of the match for Manchester United. The concept design of the stadium was prepared by Jean Marie Massaud & Daniel Pouzet.
