Amon G. Carter Stadium

Amon G. Carter Stadium is a popular open-air football arena, situated on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. The stadium is named after Amon G. Carter, who was an eminent businessman and famous personality of the city. The ground is used as the home by "TCU Horned Frogs" Football team. The stadium was constructed in 1930 with an original seating capacity of 22,000. It underwent a major reconstruction that started in 2010 and ended in 2012. An outlay of $105 million was sanctioned for the beautification of its north end as well as west zone. The idea behind the reconstruction was to enhance the experience of the football players and audiences. Amenities were significantly improved, and the historic Fort Worth icon was transformed into “Camden Yards” of collegiate football stadiums. The highlighting about the reconstruction is that it was financed completely by donor support, with no bonds or debts being raised at all.
