 
                Jeonju World Cup Stadium, also known as 'Fort Jeonju' is a football stadium in the South Korean city of Jeonju. This World Cup Stadium was built to host the FIFA World Cup 2002 that had been co-hosted by South Korea and Japan. The construction of the stadium started on 19th February 1999 and was officially opened to conduct sports events on 8th of November 2001. This stadium is the home of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. The stadium is owned by Jeonju City and managed by Jeonju City Facilities Management Corporation.
 When the decision was taken by FIFA to allow South Korea to co-host the World Cup, it had not even qualified the finals.
