Significance

• Holkar stadium witnessed its first IPL match in 2011 on 13 May. The IPL team Kings XI Punjab chose the stadium as its home ground in 2017 and still practice here.
• Virender Sehwag recorded its third highest ODI score of 219 in December 2011 which was later on surpassed by Rohit Sharma with a score of 264.
• The stadium has witnessed its first Test match in 2016, played between India and New Zealand. It was the third and final match of the series after which the stadium became the twenty-second Test venue of India. The same year, it also hosted the Ranji Trophy match.
• In 2017, the stadium hosted two international matches. An ODI match between India and Australia was held on 24th September and the other was the T20 International match held between India and Sri Lanka played in December.
