Green Park Stadium is a well-known multi-purpose stadium of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh that has hosted multiple international cricket matches. The Green Park stadium was named so after a British lady 'Madam Green' who used to practice horse riding during the 1940s. Established in 1945, the stadium is also known as 'Billiards Table'. The stadium is under the control of the Sports Department Uttar Pradesh and home to the Uttar Pradesh cricket team. Situated near the river Ganga, the stadium was nicknamed as 'Woolmer's turf' in memory of the late cricket coach and player Bob Woolmer, who was born at McRobert Hospital opposite the stadium.
