Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (also known as GBK) is situated in central Jakarta, Indonesia. It is opened on 24th July 1962 and named after Indonesia’s first President-Sukarno. The Government of Indonesia owns the stadium. It primarily hosts football matches along with various musical concerts of International artists and bands including Linkin Park, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Slank, and One Direction. The stadium is also used for political gatherings, national ceremonies, admission exams and religious affairs. Indonesia national football team and Persija Jakarta are the tenants of this stadium since 1962 and 2008, respectively.
