A British heavy metal band "Iron Maiden" has performed numerous times at the stadium (in 2001, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013).
Foro Sol is a famous sports arena in eastern Mexico, initially built in 1993 for hosting major music concerts. It is located near the Mexico City International Airport. The stadium is the second largest concert arena in Mexico (the largest being the Estadio Azteca with a capacity of 105,064 people). After the demolition of "Parque del Seguro Social", it is used for hosting baseball matches. The ground also served as home to the Mexican Baseball League team Diablos Rojos del Mexico.
Significance
- American singer Lady Gaga has presented a closing show of her "Monster Ball" tour at the stadium in 2011.
- This arena has been used by the veteran singers Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber in the year 2011 as their "Gypsy Heart Tour" and "My World Tour" respectively. An American rock band "Pearl Jam" also played at this arena as part of their 20th-anniversary tour.
- In 2013, the British boy band “One direction” had performed in this stadium as part of their wide tour “Take me home”.
- In 2016, British rock band "Coldplay" gave mesmerizing performances at the stadium as part of their "A Head Full of Dreams Tour" which was witnessed by a record attendance of 195,192 people.
