Estadio Mineirao, also known as Mineirão Stadium (officially known as Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto) is located in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Officially opened on 5th September 1965, it is the largest football stadium in the state of Minas Gerais. The stadium is owned by the State Government of Minas Gerais and operated by Minas Arena. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, a Brazilian multisport club, uses the ground as its home. Atlético Mineiro also plays some of its home matches here. Mineirão has hosted at least one match of the Brazilian national team in every FIFA World Cup qualifiers. It has also hosted matches of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The stadium has also hosted the men/women football matches of the 2016 Olympic Games.
