Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez (abbreviated as Estadio Metropolitano) is a multi-use all-seater football stadium, situated in Barranquilla, Colombia. It is also known as El Metro. The construction work for the stadium commenced on 1975 and finally opened in 1986 after eleven years. An estimated amount of $8,965,470,000 (Colombian pesos) was spent on the construction of the stadium, and the chief architect involved in designing the stadium was José Francisco Ramos. The stadium has two LEDs for a better experience of live games. It has served as the home ground for the Junior F.C. and Barranquilla F.C. It is also the official stadium of the Colombia national football team.
