The Mestalla Stadium is a football venue, located in Valencia, Spain. It was opened to the spectators on 20th May 1923 after a span of few months of construction, designed by Francisco Almenar Quinzá. Owned and operated by the Valencia Club de Fútbol, the stadium has been serving as the home ground for the Valencia Club de Fútbol since its origin. The Mestalla Stadium was called "The Estadio Luís Casanova" in between 1969-1994 and had been used as a concentration camp and storage warehouse during the Civil War. The stadium had to be renovated in the 1950s, being damaged due to the flood of October 1957.
