Estádio da Luz is officially known as the 'Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica'. It is a multi-purpose stadium, located in Lisbon city of Portugal. It was named in honour of Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Luz (Church of Our Lady of the Light). The construction work commenced in 2003, and the arena had been completely prepared within a year, specifically designed by HOK Sport (Populous). In 2014, it was chosen as the most beautiful stadium in Europe by a French newspaper 'L'Équipe' through its online poll.
