Estadio Cuscatlán, with a capacity to accommodate 53,400 people, is the largest stadium in Central America. It is located in San Salvador, El Salvador and is well-known as the home ground of El Salvador National Football team. The stadium was founded in October 1975, and the first match was held in July 1976. It has been renovated three times: in 2004, 2008 and the latest was in 2011. With a contract for 99 years between EDESSA and CLIMA (Asociación de Clubes de Liga Mayor A'), the ground is now operated by CLIMA. It was announced in 2007 that the stadium is going to have a large LCD screen where the spectators can view the action and as a result, it became the first football ground in Central America to have a large LED screen.
