The Circuit of the Americas is a Grade 1 FIA motor racing facility, located in Elroy, southeastern to Austin City in Central Texas. It hosts the Formula One United States Grand Prix. It was opened on October 21, 2012. The layout of the circuit was conceived by promoter Tavo Hellmund with the assistance of famous German architect Hermann Tilke. The circuit has a capacity of 120,000 and comprises of 20 turns. The major features of the circuit include a Grand Plaza, Observational Tower, Austin360 Amphitheater and the main Grandstand.
