The Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is a 4.412 km long motor racing circuit, located in Central France near the towns of Magny-Cours and Nevers, around 250 km (160 miles) from Paris. The circuit has a total capacity of 90,000. The circuit was constructed under the supervision of Jean Bernigaud back in 1960. It has served home to the Winfield Racing School. Initially, the track was not much used for hosting major events but after being owned the Regional Conseil de la Nièvre, it started hosting international motor sports events.

Trivia

The French Grand Prix was supposed to be held at the circuit as per the 2009 provisional calendar, released in June 2008, but the event was cancelled when the French Motorsport Federation (FFSA) withdrew financing for the event.

Significance

The 24-hour Bol d’Or motorcycle endurance event was also conducted here from 2000 to 2014.
The circuit has been hosting the FFSA GT Championship since 1997.
Michael Schumacher has won the Formula One Grand Prix for a total of eight times and became the first ever racer to win any single formula One Grand Prix for eight times at the same venue.
The circuit first hosted the Superleague Formula event in 2009 and again in 2010.
It has hosted the Formula One French Grand Prix from 1991 (succeeding the Circuit Paul Ricard) to 2008. It has also hosted French Motorcycle Grand Prix back in 1992.
The circuit also hosted international championships such as World Touring Car Championship, World Sportscar Championship, World Series by Renault, FIA GT Championship, Formula 3 Euro series, Superbike World Championship, etc.
The circuit was used as a part of stage three of the 2014 Paris-Nice cycling race.
