Camp Randall Stadium was one of the first stadiums in the United States to install artificial turf in 1968.

The stadium is located on the Camp Randall grounds which was a Union Army training camp during the Civil War.
Located in the city of Madison, Wisconsin, Camp Randall Stadium is the 41st largest stadium in the world. It was opened as a full functioning stadium in 1917. It is the home ground of the Wisconsin Badgers (NCAA) football team. The architect involved in the construction of the stadium was Arthur Peabody and renovated under the observation by Bernes-Schobler Associates. It has been renovated in 2004 and underwent expansion several times in between 1921-2004.
Significance
- On October 30, 1993, the stadium witnessed the Wisconsin Badgers football team defeating the Michigan Wolverines by 13–10, for the first time since 1981.
- The Camp Randall Complex has three other facilities names as the Field house, the Dave McClain Athletic Facility, and Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center.
- The Memorial Sports Center (also called The Shell) has an indoor track of 200-meter length which is used for intramural sports.
- It has hosted numerous major concerts, featuring famous artists such as Pink Floyd (on 20th May 1988 and 3rd July 1994), The Rolling Stones (on 26th August 1994 and 6th October 1997), the English rock band Genesis (on 9th June 1992).
