Bridgestone Arena, originally known as Nashville Arena is a multi-purpose stadium, located in Nashville, Tennessee. This arena was formerly known as Gaylord Entertainment Center as well as Somerset Center. The construction was completed in 1996 and the Nashville Predators national hockey league team has been the primary tenant of the arena. The capacity of the arena varies according to the events conducted by the arena. The arena majorly hosts basketball and Ice hockey events, attracting thousands of fanatics whole year. For concerts, the capacity ranges from 10,000-20,000 based on the concert type. The arena has also hosted many professional wrestling events and boxing matches.

Trivia

The arena couldn’t host any NHL game until January 2013 due to the 2012 dispute (known as NHL Lockout) between the National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA).

Significance

The Arena has been nominated four times (1998, 1999, 2000, and 2007) for the "Pollstar Concert Industry Venue of the Year" award.
The 61st All-star game of National Hockey League was hosted by the arena on January 31, 2016.
The arena has also hosting the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards event since 2006. It has also hosted the CMT Music Awards event from 2000 to 2016 (except 2006,2007 and 2008).
The NHL entry draft was hosted here by the Nashville Predators on June 21, 2003.
The Bridgestone Arena also hosted the U.S. Gymnastics championships in 2001.
The basketball event for both men and women of the Southeastern Conference and the Ohio Conference has been hosted by the stadium in the year 2001, 2006, and 2010.
The arena used to conduct the PBR Built Ford Tough Series bull fighting event from 2002 to 2010 (except 2005 and 2006).
The arena has served as the home of the Nashville Kats franchise of the Arena Football League from 1997 to 2001 and then from 2005 to 2007.
The venue has been chosen to host the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament until 2025, except in 2018 and 2022.
