The Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is the football stadium of the University of Florida. It is also known as 'The Swamp'. The full name of the stadium is Steve Spurrier-Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The stadium is the home ground for the Florida Gators football team. This great stadium is located in the University's Gainesville, Florida campus. It is the 12th largest stadium in American college football. The ground was broken for the construction on 16th April 1930 and an estimate amount of $118,000 was spent on it. The chief architect who constructed this stadium was Rudolph Weaver. On 8th November 1930, the stadium was officially opened for spectators. It underwent renovations in 2003, 2011 and 2015. The stadium is owned by the University of Florida and operated by the University Athletic Association.
