The Ahoy Rotterdam is a convention center, much-publicized for hosting sports events, musical concerts, and exhibitions since 1950. The arena was opened on 15th January 1971 by Prince Claus. The unique and remarkable steel architectural design of the stadium has won lots of national and international awards. The architecture of the building resembles with the structure of a ship as the concept of the arena is inspired with water.

American singer Diana Ross performed at Ahoy Rotterdam for more than 20 times in between 1982-2007.
American singer Whitney Houston performed at Ahoy Rotterdam five times in the 1980s and eleven times in 1990s.

Significance

The American vocal group "Backstreet Boys" has performed at the center many times in between 1999-2012.
The center has hosted the FIFA Futsal World Championship final in 1989.
Raw Wrestlemania Revenge Tour of WWE was held at Ahoy Rotterdam on 17th April 2013 for the first time in last two decades.
From 26th September to 4th October 2015, the Women European Volleyball Championship was held at Ahoy Rotterdam.
