A ball made of leather or any synthetic material is used that must not have a shiny or slippery surface. The ball varies in size and weight according to the gender and age of the players. It has a circumference of 23 to 24 inches and weighs around 15-16.8 ounces for men and for women it has the circumference of 21-22 inches and weighs around 11.5-13.2 ounces.
