Kabaddi World Cup (Circle Style)

Competition Format

• The competition is played in a round-robin group stage in a circular pitch of diameter 22 meters.
• Each team consists of eight players. A foul is called if two stoppers attack a player. The game duration is 40 minutes with a change in sides after 20 minutes. The line dividing the circular pitch into two halves is called the "mid-line" and each divided part is known as a "court".
• The dope test was made mandatory to make it a dope free tournament. 
• The team that slams the toss will decide to court or raid. In this style of kabaddi, a raider is allowed to touch only one opponent during the raid and only one opponent can stop the raider.
• If a raider touches more than one opponent, a point is awarded to the other team.
• A raider can't take two consecutive raids and will be marked safe if more than one opponent tries to stop him and a point will be given to his team.
• If any player crosses the midline or the boundary during the struggle, a point will be issued against him. If a raider takes more than 30-seconds in the opponent's court, he will be sent back to his court, and a point will be given to the other team with a chance to raid.
• A raider needs to chant "Kabaddi" before he enters the opponent court and needs to continue chanting for the time he is in the opponent court.
• A break of 5 minutes is given after the completion of 20 minutes or half-time.
