The Formula One Air Racing is a popular American motorsport competition which involves small aircraft that have engines up to 200 cubic inches in displacement. The Formula One Racing has been the most successful class of airplane racing over a period of 80 years being an all-American spectator sport. Formula One Air Racing is the only Air Racing recognized by the International Aeronautics Federation (FAI), the world-governing body for competitive aviation. The racing was first proposed in 1936 and the first Formula One Racing took place in the year 1947 after the engines up to 190 cubic engines were designed & approved in the year 1946.
The oldest sports association that first established the rules for the Formula One Air sport is the International Formula One Air Racing Association (IF1) from the United States of America (USA). The association has also been organizing the US National Championship since last 50 years. The sport was introduced in Europe in 1970. The first international series of formula one class air races was organized in the year 2015 at Tunisia, Spain & USA.
