The DFB-Pokal or the German Cup is an annual German Football Cup, the second most important German football club title after the Bundesliga Championship where 64 teams participate in the game, fighting for the cup. Initially, the competition was founded in 1935, titled as Tshchammer Pokal that was stopped in the year of 1944 due to the decline of Nazi Germany. The World War II also influenced the competition to be disbanded. In 1952, the game was resumed as DFB-Pokal. The German Cup was conducted by the German Football Association (DFB). The game commences in August every year and continues until June.
