The Bilbao Chess Masters Final is an international level chess competition that is held every year in Spain (recently Brazil as well). The tournament was inaugurated and first played in the year 2008. It was won by Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria. It was formerly called the Grand Slam Chess Final. The Bilbao Chess Masters Final provides a platform for the strongest competitors of the previous years’ Grand Slams to compete in. It is a double round robin tournament and allows four to six players to compete. The Bilbao Chess Masters Final follows the Sofia Chess Rules.
