The U.S. Chess Championship is an invitational chess competition, held in the United States every year to determine the national chess champion. It has begun as a challenge in 1845 and has been held under the charge of the U.S. Chess Federation since 1936. The competition was sponsored by the Seattle Chess Foundation from 1999 to 2006. Since 2009, it has been hosted by the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis. There are other major chess championships held in the U.S. every year mentioned below-
