Thailand National Games is also recognized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and is known to be the largest multi-sport event being held in Thailand.
The Thailand National Games, also recognized as Thai (formerly known as Thailand Regional Games) is an annual national multi-sport event attended by sportspersons from all across Thailand. Till 1984, the games were organized by the Organization of the Sport of Thailand (OST) but since 1985, Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has been the governing body. The first ever Thailand Games was organized in the year 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand in which athletes from five regions participated.
Competition Format
Bangkok has been the most successful city to have won the competition 26 times over the years.
Common sports competed include Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Football, Hockey, Tennis etc.
