The Sukma Games is the largest and prestigious multi-sports event, held in Malaysia once in two years. It is often regarded as the 'Malaysian Olympics'. The first edition of such competition was held in the year 1986 in Kuala Lumpur and since then it was held every two years till 2010. The participating athletes and teams are majorly from states and federal territories within Malaysia. The Sukma Games were instigated with the objective to create a united multiracial society across the nation. The last Games was conducted in 2016 by the Sarawak Sukma Games Organizing Committee, led by Tan Sri Mohd. Morshidi Abdul Ghani & Deputy Minister for Sports Datuk Lee Kim Shin and a secretariat of eight officials.
