The Strandzha Cup stands as the oldest of all the international amateur boxing competitions, held in Europe.

The Strandzha Cup is an international boxing tournament for amateurs, held in Bulgaria, every year. It is often referred as the 'Strandja Memorial'. It is also often held as a qualifier round for the Olympic events. It was inaugurated in the year 1950 at the Yunak Stadium in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Competition Format

Amateur boxing competitions are short duration boxing competitions: three-minute rounds for men (3 rounds) and two-minute rounds for women (4 rounds).
Junior Boxers aged from 11 to 17 are allowed to compete in the junior category.
Novice boxers of 17 years of age can compete against boxers of age 16 years until the age gap is not more than 12 months.
A senior boxer (age 17 and above) can compete in only 18 matches in each season, aside from international and championship matches.
The matches or rounds of each competition have a one minute break in between for the competitors to recuperate.
